Good continuation-but...
By D. Franklin
Ok, so I just finished this very very long book. The story was good, but disappointing at the end. From reading the epilogue, seems like the same arc will continue. Why 3 stars? It was long, overly so. Kiera goes on a quest, guided by the oracle to find Draven (Not a spoiler, we know this for the book description). This quest is guided by never ending riddles, which were way too long to remember, let alone match up to the clues as they presented themselves later on. I found myself skipping a few pages here and there just to see how a certain plot point would turn out instead of reading page after page of situations that should have been wrapped up a little quicker.
Anyway, we go through this quest and you would think that the ending would be worthwhile ... Right? Well I was disappointed. Things are still unresolved, we may have a little clue at the end as to what happened, but no real wrapping up of lose ends. Then from reading the epilogue, it seems same will continue. Not sure if I will continue.
I really enjoyed the first few Afterlife books, but I'm kind of ready for the story line to move on. Hope the next book is better.

I just don't know how to review this

***spoilers****
I would like to start of by saying I love this story line and I love these novels! I am an obsessed fan through and through!
However it's just the little things that really bug me! The lack of editing would be a bigge! I am no literary genius but I found so many errors in this book that it just got me annoyed and made me come out of the zone while trying to read this book!
Also everything is over described! It doesn't need to be 4 pages to describe a room or table or door. I found that I could skim or even skip a lot of pages due to the overuse of adjectives. It bugged me to no end and just detracted from an amazing storyline.
In this book, at times I just felt myself getting confused. Things were happening too fast or just repeating itself. You know you have a problem when the main character can point out repeat themes in her own monologue. For example, when Keira is talking about the danger she always attracts, she is saying to herself "let's face it, if it has anything supernatural about it and is within a 50 mile radius of me, it has to do with me".
The whole thing with Jared was just Lucius all over again. He felt "obligated to protect her". I'm sorry but when Jared and Keira listed the amount of supernatural men that Keira knew intimately or otherwise, I couldn't help but rolling my eyes and saying Keira is a slut. Honestly, you are supposed to be on this big journey to rescue the "other half of your soul" but you are still going around and LETTING other guys kiss you. I honestly felt like she was making a mockery of love. She loves when it is convenient for her. All of these men just falling at her feet. For once, I wish one of the MALE characters was strong enough to withstand her. Towards the end she had annoyed me so much that I wish Draven had hurt her more.
And finally I come to this stupid twist at the end of the book. Where she has moved on but not really. I don't know if this is just a plot to make more money but I feel ripped off in the sense that we concentrated so much on the insignificant things when there was such a big plot line going on, that it could of skipped some of the smaller irrelevant stories to get to the point sooner to avoid leaving us on a cliffhanger.
Honestly this book has so many little stories in it that it would make a great tv show. You would get at least 3 seasons from each book - that's how much is going on!
Overall I felt the book was rushed. The author has a amazing plot line and brilliant imagination but these books need to be edited better before they are released. I waited so long for this book to come out and honestly now I just wish I hadn't read it because I started off loving the characters to now wanting to rip them apart limb from limb. I will continue to buy the rest of the books in the series, but only because I cannot leave things incomplete, not necessarily because I am interested.

what more can I say then another FANTASTIC part of the Afterlife series. Stephanie Hudson is an amazing writer to say the least. This series is by far one of the best ever and this book The Quarter Moon, is supberb. Emotions of all kinds are brought out in this book. Draven is the best and keeps getting better. I often wonder how this series will end. Keep up the brilliant work Stephanie. U deserve an academy award for this book, if they gave them out for books, lol! Looking forward to next book, please hurry with it as we waited such a long time for this one. Judy Sluka
